Alban Rockefeller "Loco" (born December 29, 1983) is an American-Albanian electro house musician, Grammy Award winner, record producer, mixing hip hop and electronic music, club promoter, and the founder of Loco Records, known for energetic live shows. He has collaborated with vocalist such as Rick Ross, Jennifer Lopez, Sean Paul, Shakira and Lil Jon, and is known for his producers and remixes of artists such as Pitbull.

Loco has released several Billboard-charting studio albums as well, notably Locoland II, which was nominated for Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronica Album in 2012. He is currently releasing his 3rd-part album series Locoland III.

Early life and education

Alban Rockefeller "Loco" was born in Miami, Florida. He graduated from South Miami High School. He is the young brother of DJ Xtrem. His brother was a master of Techno, Schranz and Progressive House. Loco attended the Miami International University of Art & Design and graduated Bachelor of Science in Audio Production.

Music career

2002-present

Loco founded his own label, Loco Records, in 2006. The label has produced music by other artists such as Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Iggy Azalea, Lil Jon, Sean Paul, Jason Derulo, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled. Loco is a club promoter and DJ, he has collaborated with fellow artists, DJ and producers and thus far has released singles with Kaskade, Armand Van Helden, Afrojack, Chris Lake, Avicii, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Tiesto, David Guetta, Calvin Harris. In his interviews, Twitter feed he has shown teasers or has discussed doing future collaborations with Scooter, Martin Schulz, Monika Kruse, Paul Van Dyk, Hardwell and more.

He has remixed many artists and bands, including Lil Jon, Rick Ross, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Selena Gomez, Britney Spears, Pitbull, Flo Rida, Jay Z, Ashanti, Lenny Kravitz, Kanye West, T.I., DJ Khaled, Tyga, T-Pain, Shakira, Sean Paul, Rihanna, LMFAO, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Nelly, Will Smith, Lil' Kim, Ludacris, Kelly Rowland and Puff Daddy. The song features Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Eminem. The track made it to the top of Hype Machine's chart in December 2009.

Through relentless touring he gained huge support from colleges. Performing an average of 120 concerts a year, more than 10 cities in 30 dates across the United States and Canada. Many of the artists Loco collaborates with make appearances on tour with him. In July 2012, Loco was added to the Pollstar Top 100 Worldwide Tours in their 2012 Mid Year Report. The list designated Loco as the highest grossing artist in Worldwide for the first half of the year.

Loco's last remix album, Locoland Remixed was released 2010 and features guest vocalists and musicians Pitbull, Rick Ross, Puff Daddy, Travis Barker, DJ Khaled, Sean Paul, Jennifer Lopez, Lil Jon, and others. A new album was released shortly after. Loco was nominated for Best Dance/Electronica Album for Locoland II at the 2012 Grammy Awards and winn.

From 2011 to 2014 he had a number of other tracks included in television shows, commercials, and film. This included "Ecstasy", used in the music festival documentary Electric Daisy Carnival in 2011, which in 2014 was used in a trailer for the comedy Think Like A Man Too as well. In 2012 his track "I'm Loco", was used in a promo for the reality show Bad Girls All-Star Battle. From 2013 to 2014 his track "There It Is" was used in a number of commercials, with companies including Scion, Budweiser, and Sol Republic. His track "MIAMI" was used in the 2012 film Step Up Revolution, while "Freak" was used in a 2014 Bud Light commercial. His track "Jump" in 2014 was used in a commercial for Sol Republic. Loco's song "Vision" was used in the 2014 film Step Up: All In, while his collaborative single "Echo" was used in the 2014 film 22 Jump Street.

Loco finished in 3rd place in the 2012 America's Best DJ competition-a vote and promotion to find out the country's most popular DJ conducted by DJ Times magazine and Pioneer DJ. He has a new third-part album, "Locoland III", to be release on Loco Records. The 3rd part, "Locoland" was released on December 29, 2009. The second part, "Locoland II" was released on November 11, 2011, while the third has an unspecified release date for early 2016.
