Crossing sequence (railways)

In rail transport, the crossing sequence is a pattern (2 long, 1 short, 1 long. Each about 2 seconds for the long, 1 second each for the short & spaces) sounded by a locomotive horn or whistle as the train approaches and passes a grade crossing.[1]
