"Come Back Home" (Hangul: 컴백홈) is a Korean single by the South Korean girl group 2NE1 from Crush, their second full-length album after To Anyone which was released 4 years ago.[3] The song is written and produced by YG's main producer, Teddy Park and is described to be an "attempt to mix the genres of R&B, reggae, and hip hop".[4]

"Come Back Home" achieved number one on the Gaon Digital Chart.[5] As of August 6, the single has accumulated over 1.3 million downloads making it one of the best-selling K-pop songs for 2014 despite its promotions being halted due to the Sewol tragedy.[6]

Music video

Background

The music video for the song was released on March 2, 2014. YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun-suk described the music video as "set in a near-future city", and the concept is that people in the said era prefer the virtual world over the real one, just like the movie ‘Matrix’."[7] Furthermore it is notable for its high production value of half a million dollars to effectively exude a futuristic vibe with the use of extensive computer graphics, as well as being directed by a rookie director, Dee Shin.[8]

"Come Back Home" garnered positive commercial and critical success, not just for its track but also for its artistic music video for portraying the song's lyrics in a metaphorical light as opposed to what could have been another tragic love story.[9][10]
