Christopher Lynch (businessman)

Christopher Lynch is an Australian businessman and the current CEO of Transurban Ltd and also a member of the AFL Commission.

Lynch holds the degrees of Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) both from Deakin University, Australia. He is member of CPA Australia.

Business life

Lynch was Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Alcoa Inc based in Pittsburgh, United States, and Chief Financial Officer, Alcoa Europe, Lausanne, Switzerland.

He was also Managing Director KAAL Australia Ltd, a joint venture company formed by Alcoa Inc and Kobe Steel.

Lynch became an Executive Director of BHP Billiton Ltd and member of its board in January 2006.

He was subsequently appointed as Group President of BHP Billiton's Carbon Steel Materials division in April 2006. Prior to this he was Chief Financial Officer of the group since September 2001.

He joined the company in 2000 as Chief Financial Officer of the Minerals Group within BHP Billiton Ltd.

Lynch became CEO of Transurban in 2008[1]

He was elected a member of the AFL Commission at the end of 2007[2]
