Chimariya (Nepali: चिमरिया) is a caste in Hindu- Brahman which is mostly found in Nepal as a surname or given name. They belongs to Bhardwaj (भरद्वाज / भारद्वाज) [1] Gotra Family. The caste Chimariya speaks Nepali, the national language of Nepal. Some Chimariya are also consider as degraded kshhetri.

Chimariya are mostly found in Tehrathum, Hwaku, Jhapa, Taplejung, Morang, Kavre, Dolakha, Sikkim, Sankhuwasabha, Mahendranagar Chitwan, Mahottari, Sarlahi and also live in India(Aasham, Monipur).

Chimariya is also written as Chimouriya.

Description

Chimariya's are mostly found in the Hill and Terai region of Nepal and some part in India as well. All Chimariya share the same gotra, Bhardwaj, which means all of them share the same forefather. The Surname with Chimariya can't marry another Chimariya.
