Plot

The film focuses on Charles Bukowski's early years: his abusive father, disfiguring acne, alcoholism, and his escape through writing.[1]

Cast

Production

Shooting began on January 22, 2013, in Los Angeles.[1] After shooting for two weeks, the crew took a break, with a planned resumption in March 2013.[5] In April 2014, Cyril Humphris announced that he had filed a lawsuit against Franco that alleges that Franco had adapted Ham on Rye without the necessary film rights.[6][7] The suit was later dropped.[8]

Release

Bukowski was planned for release in 2014.[9]
