Buhovo (Bulgarian Бухово) is a town in Western Bulgaria. It is located in Sofia city and is close to the capital Sofia.

History

In prehistory, middle and late Neolithic (New Stone Age) Buhovo is located 1.5 kilometers east of its current location. For the previous occupants remained evidences (potsherds, hammers, axes and awls) through which is dated this event. Back then the name of Buhovo was Ursul.

In 1928 "St. Nicholas " the church was built. In 1938, with the help from Germany was developed deposits of uranium.

The village was declared for a town with Decree 1942 of the State Council of the PRB of the 09.04.1974, the (Prom. SG. 72 of 17.09.1974)
