A product of Benfica's youth system, Silva played for its ranks, and in 2013 won the 2012–13 Portuguese Juniors Championship.[1] He made his professional debut in the first match of the 2013–14 season, against Trofense.[2]

On 20 January 2015, Benfica announced that Silva's economic and sports rights had been sold to Monaco for €15.75 million.[9] He signed for the new club until 30 June 2019.[10]

On 10 April 2015, he scored twice in an away win at Caen (0–3) in the league.[11]
