After the defeat of Banda Singh Bahadur at Parsur, by Mughal General Muhammad Amin Khan, the Sikhs were pursued all the way to Jammu by the Mughal forces. At Jammu, the Sikhs led by Banda Singh Bahadur were heavily defeated.^[1]
