Overview

The company was founded in 1978 by Peter Paraskakis[4] and commodity tycoon James Macintosh as "Baker's Dozen Donut Corporation." It is based in Mississauga, Ontario.

The chain operates over 100 stores, mostly in the Toronto, Ontario area. Expansion came in the late 1980s, but it remains a small scale operation. Stores are chain-owned or franchised.

Signage

The original sign featured a European-looking baker with a mustache holding a tray of a dozen doughnuts in one hand, and the thirteenth or "baker's dozen" doughnut in the other hand.
