The Bachchan family (Hindi: बच्चन परिवार) is a prominent Indian family, headed by Amitabh Bachchan. Many members of the family have been successful actors in the Hindi film industry.

The family includes Amitabh's wife, actress Jaya Bhaduri, their daughter Shweta Nanda, son, actor Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law, actress Aishwarya Bachchan. Time magazine listed Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai on its list of most influential Indians.[2]

Overview

Amitabh Bachchan is the son of Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan who married to Shyama and Teji Bachchan. Amitabh has a brother named Ajitabh Bachchan having a daughter Naina Bachchan, married to Kunal Kapoor and a son named Bhim Bachchan and daughter named Namrita Bachchan. Amitabh's wife is actress Jaya Bachchan. Their children are Shweta Bachchan Nanda and actor Abhishek Bachchan. Shweta Bachchan is married to Nikhil Nanda, the son of Ritu Nanda and grandson of actor Raj Kapoor. Shweta's children are son Agastya Nanda and daughter Navya Naveli Nanda. Abhishek is married to Aishwarya Bachchan and they have a daughter named Aaradhya Bachchan. The family stays in the two famous houses, Jalsa and Pratheeksha, in Mumbai.[3]
