Applicants trying out for the BC Angels were told to don "cute gym wear".

The BC Angels were formerly an expansion team in the Lingerie Football League and played several games in the 2012-13 season. The Lingerie Football League changed its name to the Legends Football League, and league owners spun off a four team Legends Football League Canada.[1] Based in Abbotsford, British Columbia (70 kilometres away from Vancouver), the Angels will play their home games at the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre. Although the initial intention was for Vancouver to host the team, BC Place did not have any weekend dates available in 2012, and Rogers Arena was uninterested.[2]

The Angels are the second of four charter teams to play in the LFL Canada league, in addition to the Toronto Triumph (which played in the 2011–12 LFL season), the Regina Rage and Saskatoon Sirens.[3][4]

The Angels are unusual among LFL teams in that the name of the team is a plural; most other LFL teams prior have singular nicknames (the Sirens share this distinction). It is also unusual in that the team does not take its colours from the local professional football team (the BC Lions' colours are orange, black and white), but instead from the Vancouver Canucks, the province's National Hockey League team.

In March, 2012, Lingerie Football League Canada officials announced tryout details on their official website[5] and made a casting call on Model Mayhem.[6] Tryouts for the BC Angels were held on Friday, March 23, 2012 in Richmond, BC. Dress attire for the tryout was “cute gym wear”.[4] Forty prospective players from the tryout will be selected to move on to a mini-camp held in May, from which thirty will be selected for a training camp in June. Twenty players will be selected for the final roster.[7] Commissioner Mortaza expected "a few hundred, if not maybe a couple thousand, to come out and compete for only 20 coveted spots."[8] Only twenty women showed up for the tryout, from Richmond, Vancouver, Surrey, Port Coquitlam and Langley.[9]

Lingerie Football League Canada officials have just announced that the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre home to LFL Canada's BC Angels has been awarded 'Opening Night' of LFL Canada's historic inaugural season set to play on Saturday, August 25 vs. Regina Rage, 8 pm kickoff.

Opening Night festivities will include the pre-game 'LFL Canada Tailgate Village' starting at 5pm with LIVE Music and DJs, Beer Garden, Video Gaming Lounge, BBQ Food, Football Challenges and more attractions.

The 2nd and final home game for the BC Angels will be vs. Toronto Triumph on Saturday, September 29, 8pm Kickoff.

The 2013-2014 was cancelled.[1][10] The Abbotsford News attributed the cancellation to concerns held by players at the Calgary Fillies and the Saskatoon Sirens over player safety and management competence.
