Arun Singh (born 4 April 1965) is an Indian politician from Uttar Pradesh and the current National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).[1] Singh is the BJP's In-charge for the India's eastern state of Odisha from the year 2014.

Early life and education

Arun Singh was born on 4 April 1965 in the remote village of Baidha in the district of Mirzapur (U.P).

After graduating from Allahabad University in 1984, he moved to Delhi to pursue C.A course. In 1988, he qualified as Chartered Accountant with all India ranking.

He has 25 years' experience as a chartered accountant. He served as a Director of State Bank of India and Union Bank for seven years. Singh has also served as Consultant for World Bank and United Nations projects with large corporations.

He has experience as a guest faculty in the discipline of management and finance. He has been associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh from his early student life.[3]

Political career

Arun Singh started his political career as a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He assumed the office of Vice President and National Treasurer of the youth wing of BJP in 1999-2004.[3] After that he was the National Convener of Investor Cell. In the meantime, he also served as the National Executive Member of BJP from 2009-2014. He was the State Co-Incharge (Prabhari) of Odisha BJP in the year 2013-14 and later promoted to the State Incharge. He was also the member of the Team of Modi Campaign Committee, New Delhi, India. Due to his successful campaign experience and good track record, he was promoted to the post of National Secretary of BJP.[4] BJP became the largest party in the world in terms of membership and he was the National Co-Incharge for membership drive & travelled throughout the country for the campaign. At present, he is the National General Secretary and In-Charge of BJP Headquarters.

Ideology

He believes in the doctrine of integral Humanism “Ekatm Manav Vaad” of Deendayal Upadhyaya and believes India must be developed on lines of an indigenous economic model that puts the human being at centre stage. Economic development is good only when complete society gets benefited. He is completely in faith with ideology of BJP and working style of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is confident about BJP to fulfill all its commitment towards nation made during general election. He believes under PM Modi’s leadership India will soon emerge as super power of the world.
