Annanagar Mudhal Theru is a 1988 Tamil film starring Sathyaraj, Radha, Ambika, Janagaraj, Raghuvaran and Manorama.[2] Prabhu makes an extended cameo appearance.

The film was a remake of the 1986 Malayalam film Gandhinagar 2nd Street starring Mohanlal and Karthika directed by Sathyan Anthikad. The film is a mixture of comedy, romance, sentiments and affection. It was a profitable venture for Vivekananda Film Circuit K.Padmavathi.

Reception

The film was a blockbuster and completed a 100-day run in theaters. It earned a good reputation for its director Balu Anand who proved his competence via this project.
