History

In the Fall of 2007, the former Andrews School and Phillips-Osborne School officially merged to form the new Andrews Osborne Academy. Previously located in Painesville, Ohio, the Phillips-Osborne School has relocated entirely to Willoughby.[1] This gives Willoughby its first coeducational boarding and day school.

The Andrews School

The former crest of the Andrews School.

Founded in 1910, The Andrews School for Girls had a number of majors such as Business, Foods, Retail, Cosmetology, and Clothing. In the early 1980s, The Andrews School became a college preparatory school, and in 2007 merged with the Phillips-Osborne School to become the only co-ed independent PK - grade 12 school in Lake County. Each year 100% of the graduating seniors gain acceptance to 4-year colleges and universities.[2]

The Phillips-Osborne School

The Phillips-Osborne School was founded in Painesville as The Phillips School in 1972, being renamed as the Phillips-Osborne School in 1992. It was a co-ed school for PK - grade 8 prior to its merger with The Andrews School.
