Amirhossein Aslanian (Persian: امیرحسین اصلانیان, born December 16, 1979 in Tehran)[2] is a retired Iranian footballer.[1] He is mostly known for his time in Persepolis as a "super-sub".[3]

Early years

Aslanian was virtually born on December 16, 1979, but his date of birth in the birth certificate is cited 1978.[4] His father was a doctor.[4] Aslanian originally did karate prior becoming a footballer.[1] He served his Conscription at Nirouye Zamini.[1]

Club career

He joined Iranian famous club Persepolis signing a 5-year contract in 2000,[1] under management of Ali Parvin, and played for them until was fired from the club by then-Coach Vinko Begović in October 2003.[5] On January 2004, he was involved in a deadly Car accident and became injured,[6][6][7] making him unable to return to football for 2 years.[1] two years later he signed with Paykan, but during the match against Bargh Shiraz in 2006 he experienced a heart attack which he survived.[8][9][10] Next season, he joined Damash Tehran but left them quickly after the club was moved to Gilan Province.[1] He usually played as a substitute player at Damash.[11]
