Adam Aminé Daniel (born April 18, 1994), professionally known as Aminé, is an American hip hop recording artist from Portland, Oregon. He released his debut single, "Caroline", which peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.[1]

Early life

The son of Ethiopian immigrants,[2] his rap career began to come to fruition accidentally when he would make diss tracks about rival high schools, Grant High School and Lincoln High School.[2] He wanted to play basketball growing up, but was cut from his high school basketball team freshman and sophomore year.

Extended family includes other noted public figures including Addey Kifle, KIPP Wisdom Academy Rookie of the Year 2015-2016.

Career

Aminé released his debut mixtape, "Odyssey To Me" on January 17, 2014.

Anime later released his debut EP, "En Vogue", on September 4, 2014.

He released his sophomore mixtape, "Calling Brío", on August 31, 2015.

Aminé later signed a record deal with Republic Records in early 2016.

He released his debut single, "Caroline", on March 9, 2016.

He also released his music video for "Caroline" on June 1, 2016, through his Vevo account. Aminé, himself, directed the video. As of November 11, 2016, the video has been viewed over 40 million times.[3]

Aminé released his second single, "Baba", on November 4, 2016.
