Aika Robredo, born Jessica Marie Gerona Robredo, is the eldest daughter of Vice President Leni Robredo and the incumbent Second Lady of the Philippines.

Personal life

Robredo was born on January 12, 1987 in Naga City to Vice President Leni Robredo and the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo. She graduated in Ateneo de Manila University with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering,[1] and was employed in the Office of Civil Defense of the Department of National Defense until resignation to campaign for her mother.[2][3]

Her father, the late Sec. Jesse Robredo, reportedly wanted her to keep her maiden name to continue their family's legacy.[4][5]

Role

During the campaign, she became active as one of her mother's spokesperson[6] and representative in some campaign events and functions she cannot attend to.[7][8] As Second Lady of the Philippines, she acts as her mother's alter ego and official hostess to the official residence of the Vice President of the Philippines, the Quezon City Reception House.
