Abatos

Abatos, also Abaton, was a rocky island in the Nile, Egypt near Philae, where the Egyptian priests alone were permitted to enter.^[1] Abatos was mentioned by both Seneca^[2] and Lucan.^[3] The name was later used by astronomers for a plateau on the moon Triton.
