Aa en Hunze ( pronunciation ) is a municipality in the northeastern Netherlands.

The names 'Aa' (more precisely the 'Drentsche Aa') and 'Hunze' refer to two small rivers through the municipality.

Population centres

Long place names

The very small hamlets Gasselternijveenschemond 1e Dwarsdiep and Gasselternijveenschemond 2e Dwarsdiep have the longest settlement names in the Netherlands. Gasselterboerveenschemond is the longest single-word placename in the country.

Transportation

There is no railway station in the municipality. The nearest station is Assen railway station.
