The club was founded in 1927 as A.C. Sangiovannese 1927.

Seasons from 2000–01 to 2010–11

It has played in Serie C2 from 2000–01, after the promotion from Serie D, to 2003–04 when it was promoted in Serie C1. It has played in this league until 2007–08 when it was relegated to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione, where it has played for three season until 2010–11.

It didn't join 2011–12 league 2011-12 Lega Pro Seconda Divisione.[2]


It is refounded in 2011 as A.S.D. SanGiovanniValdarno.[3]

In the 2013–14 season it was promoted to Serie D after play off.
