Aéropole Science Park

The Aéropole Science Park is a business incubator and science park located in Charleroi, Wallonia (Belgium), nearby the Brussels South Charleroi Airport.

It hosts 150 companies, providing around 3600 jobs. Business and academic clusters are growing up in the following fields : aeronautics, ICT, biotechnologies, industrial engineering, training and R&D centres.[1]

Two research institutes of the Université Libre de Bruxelles are located at the science park, the Institut de biologie et de médecine moléculaires (IBMM, E: Institute for Molecular Biology and Medicine) and the Institut d'immunologie médicale (IMI, E: Institute for Medical Immunology), which, in themselves, are part of the Biopole ULB Charleroi. The IMI grew out of a collaboration between the ULB, the Walloon Region and GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals.[2]

Several Spin-off of the Université Libre de Bruxelles have their headquarters on the site :[3]
