The 2016 Qatar motorcycle Grand Prix was the first round of the 2016 MotoGP season. It was held at the Losail International Circuit in Doha on 20 March 2016.

This event would be the last podium for Spanish Moto2 rider, Luis Salom; who finished in second place, before his death in 3 June 2016 at the 2016 Catalan Grand Prix.
