The 1997 Boise State Broncos football team represented Boise State University in the 1997 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Broncos competed in the Big West Conference and played their home games at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho. Led by Houston Nutt, in his only year as head coach, the Broncos were 4–7 overall and 3–2 in conference play. Cal State Northridge later forfeited the opener, played before a record crowd of 26,824 at Bronco Stadium,[1] which improved BSU's record to 5–6.
