The 1978 Great Taste Discoverers season was the 4th season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

Summary

Great Taste were tied in third place with U-Tex with a 4-3 won-loss card in the first round of eliminations of the All-Filipino Conference, the Discoverers lost all their games in the second round and fell to seventh place overall.

The two imports tapped to play for Great Taste in the second conference were Cisco Oliver and James Collins, the Discoverers lost 13 of their 14-game assignments. Before the conference ended, coach Nilo Verona resigns and team manager Chino Marquinez takes over. [1]
