During its second tour to Argentina, the British Lions played 9 matches there. Although this was not an official tour, The River Plate Rugby Union (now Unión Argentina de Rugby) recognised four of them as the first official matches of Argentina national team.

The British Lions were formed by English and Scottish players.[1][2]
