Thomas "Tommy" Pickup was a professional rugby league footballer of the 1920s, playing at club level Wakefield Trinity (Heritage #251), as a Centre, or Stand-off/Five-eighth, i.e. number 3 or 4, or 6.
Playing career
County Cup final appearances
Tommy Pickup played Stand-off/Five-eighth in Wakefield Trinity's 9-8 victory over Batley in the 1924 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1924–25 season at Headingley Stadium, Leeds on Saturday 22 November 1924, and played Centre, i.e. number 4 in the 3-10 defeat by Huddersfield in the 1926 Yorkshire Cup final during the 1926–27 season at Headingley Stadium, Leeds on Wednesday 1 December 1926, the original match on Saturday 27 November 1926 was postponed due to fog.[1]
Tour Match Appearances
Tommy Pickup played Centre, i.e. number 3 and scored a try in Wakefield Trinity's 3-29 defeat by Australia in the tour match at Belle Vue, Wakefield on Saturday 22 October 1921.[2]
