The Great Escape (Chinese: 明月几时有) is a 2017 Hong Kong war action thriller film directed by Ann Hui, starring Zhou Xun, Eddie Peng and Wallace Huo.[1][2][3] It is based on the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong in the 1940s.

Synopsis

Set in the 1940s, the story tells the story of a legendary woman "Fang Gu" (Zhou Xun), who is one of the key figures during the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong. It will also portrayal the fight and struggle for freedom and independence by youths of the resistance groups.

The film was announced as an upcoming new project at Bona Film Group Limited's 15th anniversary dinner. The estimated budget of the film is 10 billion RMB. Bona Film Group will also be working closely with Huaxia Film Distribution.

Principal photography has begun in February 2016.
