Master's Academy & College is a chartered Christian school located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is a school within the Palliser Regional Schools system, which is a group of community, Hutterite, Christian, online, and low German Mennonite[1] schools in Alberta. The school's goal is to prepare students to be "future ready",[2] and it is associated with the Profound Learning Institute, or PLI. The school has grades from kindergarten–12.

History

The school was founded in 1997 by Tom Rudmik. Rudmik is the author of the book Becoming Imaginal and based the school upon the theory mentioned in the book.[3] Its goal is to go beyond academic excellence and to prepare students by encouraging them to be creative, innovate, and leaders of change.[4]

College

The College consists of grades 7–12. Upon entering grade 7, each student is expected to have his or her own personal Macintosh laptop, as the College has a one-to-one computing policy.[5]

Research and development

Master's has a model of teaching known as Profound Learning, which puts an emphasis on creativity and innovation. A non-profit organization has been created, known as Master's Profound Learning Research Institute. Its founder has traveled to many developing countries, including Nigeria to give seminars on his vision, and the schools on learning.[6]
