Mariam Stepanyan (born 22 September 1989) is an Armenian professional footballer. She currently plays for Armenia women's national football team. Before to start play football she was a player of Armenian National woman's Team of Handball. She starts to play football since 2007 in FC Banants. Twice Armenian league champion with FC Banants. After FC Banants twice was Armenian champion with Yerevan FC G.M and got best defenders title of the season. In 2015 she joined Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture facultie Football by profession - a physical education teacher.

Refereeing carrer

Armenian football referee, the matches of the championship of Armenia among men and women. Start's 2009 to take a referee's course two years Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and also 6 months Football Federation of Armenia. She started to control many friedly matches and also National junior League matches then 1 league. After two years she started to be inpromising assistant referees then in 2014 she was nominated as a FIFA international referee's assiatant and she placed on FIFA's list in 2015 . Her first internatioanl match was in (Norway 3-0 Poland) UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship Qualifying round - Group 3 13/09/2014 In Loni Papuçiu Stadium (Albania) In 2016 April 12 in Stadion pod Malim brdom she judjed Woman's EURO 2017 Qualifying group stage - Group 2 (Montenegro vs Filandia) In 2016 october 19 to _ 24 she judjed UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship QUALIFYING ROUND GROUP 10 (Netherland 6-0 Bulgaria) and then (Turkey 3-0 Bulgaria) and (Bulgaria 1-0 Moldova)

Coaching Carrer

She started to help her coach (Liana Hayrapetyan) in the club L.H.(Armenia) on the position assistant of head coach who's in the meantime the head coach of Armenia women's national football team and also in the same time works with national teams of U16 and U19. In 2016 she got Diploma for the title of the best coach of fimale division in autumn seasion. In 2016 Coaches Across Continents comes to Yerevan and she started to work with them and got Diploma' from Coaches Across Continents.
