List of Lancashire County Cricket Club players

This is a complete list in alphabetical order of cricketers who have played for Lancashire in first-class cricket since the club was founded in 1864. Players who have represented the club in List A or Twenty20 matches only will be listed separately.

The Lancashire teams formed by earlier organisations, essentially the old Manchester Cricket Club, always had important or first-class status and, therefore, the county club is classified as an important team by substantial sources from 1865 to 1894;[1][2] classified as an official first-class team from 1895 by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and the County Championship clubs;[3] and classified as a List A team since the beginning of limited overs cricket in 1963.[4]

The details are the player's usual name followed by the years in which he was active as a Lancashire player and then his name is given as it appears on match scorecards (i.e., usually his surname preceded by all initials). Note that many players represented other first-class teams besides Lancashire. Some played for Manchester before 1864 and eight players represented a team styled Lancashire in 1864: these players then went on to play in major matches for the new club from 1865. Current players are shown as active up to and including the 2016 season.[5]
