He signed a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs for the 2016 season. He spent 2016 with the Tennessee Smokies, where he batted .266 with 13 home runs and 50 RBI's.[6]

On November 26, 2016, Dugan signed a minor league deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Dugan's father, Dennis Dugan, is a film director.[1]
