IDE Technologies is an Israeli water desalination company.[1]

History

The company was founded in 1965.[2] It is headquartered in the Hasharon Industrial Park in Kadima, Israel.[1] Its Chairman is Asaf Bartfeld,[2] while its Chief Executive Officer and President is Avshalom Felber.[1]

In Israel, it has built desalination plants in Hadera, Ashkelon and Soreq.[3][4]

In 2013, it agreed to design the Carlsbad desalination plant in Carlsbad, California.[5] It is expected to be completed by 2016.[6] Other projects under construction include plants in India,[7] Chile, Venezuela and Mexico.[8]

Ownership

It is co-owned by Israel Chemicals and Delek,[9] as Delek acquired 50% of the company in 2002.[8] By 2014, both entities agreed to sell IDE Technologies to a foreign investor to obviate the Arab League boycott of Israel.[8]
