David Davies (born 1954) is a British flautist, conductor and composer. He was born in Dunfermline, Scotland.

Career

He began his professional career as a flautist and he held principal positions in the Royal Scottish National Orchestra[1] and the Scottish Opera Orchestra.[2]

As a composer, his works have received numerous performances throughout the UK, Europe and the US and have been broadcast by the BBC. His compositions include chamber pieces, orchestral works, several concertos and a chamber opera based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s story, Markheim.[3]
