Bijagua de Upala

Bijagua is a small town approximately 26 km south of Upala in Northern Costa Rica.

The town is situated in a valley between the volcanoes Miravalles and Tenorio. The population is approximately 2000 within the town and 5000 in the region. The local economy is primarily farming, including vegetable production and cattle raising. Tourism exists due in part to the primary growth rainforest located in the area.[1] Bijagua is approximately 16 km from Tenorio Volcano National Park[2] and the Celeste River.
