Agustín de Ugarte y Sarabia (died 6 December 1650) was a Roman Catholic prelate who served as Bishop of Quito (1647–50), Bishop of Arequipa (1640–47), Bishop of Santiago de Guatemala (1630–40), and Bishop of Chiapas (1629–30).[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

Biography

On 3 Dec 1629, Agustín de Ugarte y Sarabia was appointed during the papacy of Pope Urban VIII as Bishop of Chiapas.[1] On 2 Dec 1630, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Urban VIII as Bishop of Santiago de Guatemala.[1] On 24 Aug 1631, he was consecrated bishop by Luis Córdoba Ronquillo, Bishop of Cartagena.[1] On 19 Nov 1640, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Urban VIII as Bishop of Arequipa.[1] On 21 Oct 1647, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Innocent X as Bishop of Quito.[1] He served as Bishop of Quito until his death on 6 Dec 1650.[1]
